Investing in a 1% world is tough but not impossible

Investing in a 1% world is tough but not impossible

From wealth manager Jun 15 2012 BY: Gary Corcoran , Editorial Director, Portfolio Adviser & International Adviser

Japan has lived in a 1% world for the past three decades and it is not impossible that UK investors could soon follow suit - though hopefully for nowhere near as long.
Lee Robertson says the current global economic conditions means it is a very difficult market for anyone investing right now, but it is by no means impossible. He paints a picture of a US in recovery, plenty of behind-the-scenes action over Europe with even parts of peripheral Europe - most notable Ireland - successfully paying down their debt.
A properly diversified portfolio is the way forward, with income and yield investing key to his investment style.
