Takayama will simultaneously act as the firm’s head of international business development and sales planning division, serving as a key point of contact for overseas unit heads and senior sales managers.
The news of Takayama’s appointment comes shortly after the announcement of Nikko's collaboration with Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), which will involve LGIM facilitating the sale and marketing of Nikko's products in Europe.
Takayama brings with him over 20 years of industry experience with positions based in Tokyo, New York and London. Most recently, he was chief executive officer of the European unit and head of international sales at Tokio Marine.
Director and executive vice chairman of Nikko, Hideo Abe, stressed that Takayama’s “expertise in major global markets and track record in international sales and leadership will help us build our position as Asia's premier global asset manager.”
